Angamaly film fest
The 2nd Angamaly International Film Festival will be held from January 10-14 at the CSA Hall. More than 40 films in various categories like World Classics, Short & Animation, Documentaries, Restrospective and Indian Panorama will be screened.
Significant films like Why Bodhidharma Has Left for the East, Me…Myself, XXY, 4 months, 3 weeks, 2 days, Getting Home will be screened at the World Cinema category.
In the Indian Panorama section Satyajit Ray’s ‘Jalsaghar,’ Mrinal Sen’s ‘Bhuvan Shome,’ K. G. George’s ‘Yavanika,’ will be screened along with some of the latest Malayalam films like ‘Ore Kadal,’ (Shyama Prasad) and ‘Thakara Chenda’ (Avira Rebecca).
The Restrospective will feature films by American avant-garde film maker and film theorist Maya Deren, noted Chilean director Alexander Jodorowsky and those of Czech surrealist Jan Svankmajer, one of the most celebrated animators and also popular feature film maker.
The festival will be inaugurated by Adoor Gopalakrishnan.
