Vijaya Medical Centre has acquired a 64 CT slice volume CT Scanner recently. The multi-detector CT scanner can perform a new and novel technique called CT Angiogram that is a non-invasive procedure to have a three dimensional view of the entire beating heart including its vessels.

It also shows the walls of the arteries and any fat or calcium deposits within them that are the cause for narrowing of these vessels that consequently lead to heart attacks. The entire procedure takes less than 20 minutes and patients can resume his activities unlike traditional angiography that requires hospitalization for a couple of days.
