Nikhil Dwivedi and Amrita Rao on “My Name is Anthony Gonsalves”

“It’s a tale of an ordinary man with extraordinary dreams,”says Nikhil Dwivedi about his role in the movie, My Name is Anthony Gonsalves. released this FridayHe plays a bartender, who aspires to be an actor in the film.

Nikhil, along with his female lead in the film, Amrita Rao was in town recently to promote their latest venture. Nikhil, the debutant actor is excited about his role and is elated to be associated with some of the big names in the industry.

The movie deals with the aspirations of a small town boy who wants to make it big in Bollywood. Veterans of Hindi cinema like Mithun Chakrabarty, Anupam Kher and Pawan Malhotra will also be part of the endeavour. Mithun will be seen in a prominent role in a Hindi film after his performance in Guru. The young actors admitted there was a lot to learn from the disco dancer of the 1970s and ‘80s.

Amrita is also eloquent about the project and her co-star. “It’s a perfect launch pad for a newcomer,” says Amrita. She isall praise for Nikhil’s acting prowess. “I enjoyed working with Nikhil, we had fun while shooting,” she adds.

This is the first timeAmrita is working with E. Niwas.She plays the role of an assistant film director. Commenting on her image, Amrita says, “I like to be called a girl next door, as people can relate to the character. A larger than life image seems unrealistic to connect.”

Nikhil is just a film old, but now has a few offers in his kitty. He is currently working on a remake of Sunny Deol’s Arjun and an untitled multi-starrer , while Amrita is busy working for Shyam Benegal’s Mahadev, Anil Kapoor’s Short Cut co-starring with Akshaye Khanna, and Harman Baweja’s Victory.

Currently, the actors are pinning their hopes on My Name is Anthony Gonsalves and they have left no stoneunturned in its promotion.
