The Silk Route has always been a subject of fascination. Now, an exhibition “Cities, Roads and Caravan Sarais: An Emblem of Linkages through the Ages,” at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, throws light on this and more.

It’s an exhibition of India’s historical and cultural links with West and Central Asia.

It was inaugurated recently by Pranab Mukherjee, Union Minister for External Affairs. Chinmaya R. Gharekhan, President the IGNCA Trust, said that the accompanying international seminar would be a “seedbed, from which viable ideas for India and Central Asia partnership would grow.”

The inauguration also saw performances by artistes from Central Asia.
