Now, a battery-charged bike made by women

Away from all the spotlight surrounding the Tata Nano, women in Himachal Pradesh have been working to manufacture Rahee, a non-polluting, battery-charged bike.

Rahee costs less than Rs.26,000, and claims to offer style, power and comfort. To top it all, it is completely made by women.

It is likely to be especially useful for youngsters in smaller towns and villages, where people often have to drive long distances to get their scooters and bikes refuelled.

This bike can be charged anywhere, and the rider does not need a driving license.

The bike can give about 25 kilometres per hour at top speed.
