Sportsmanship
Despite stringent efforts to eradicate racism, we have been witnessing many instances frequently. In most of the cases, it is shown out of frustration or inability while playing. It should be taken as an emotional outburst. However, the players concerned should be warned suitably. Players from Asian region are rarely involved in such controversies. There are good number of cases of Australian players making racist remarks. There are instances of such comments and displays from the spectators in Australia. On the other side, four players of Indian origin, Rohan Kanhai, Alvin Kallicharan, Shivanarine Chanderpaul and Ramnaresh Sarwan have lead the West Indies team. West Indian born Robin Singh played in India. The West Indian born Phillip DeFreitas, Indian born Nasser Hussain and Sardar Monty Panesar have contributed to English cricket. Dipak Patel and Jeetan Patel have played for New Zealand cricket team. Cricket must reflect sportsmanship and should not be made a battle ground.
