The Taj Resort on the Rebak Island is beautifully landscaped, the rooms and the villas, made of timbre, are contemporary and yet have an ethnic charm to them. The spacious rooms are done up with Malay arts and crafts and some exquisite Indonesian furniture.
Of the 82 rooms, many of them face the sea, and then there are the deluxe villas in which you can just stay put for months on end. They have the Senari, an all-day dining restaurant by the pool which serves a variety of cuisine like in most other places. But the good thing is that it serves Indian food, and there are quite a few options for vegetarians. The Indian chef is quite a genius who will dish out food of your choice if you give him some time.
They have SY 69, a stylish lounge bar. Help yourself to some of the most inventive beverages, cocktails and what not! The musicians who sing at the lounge bar, both locals, simply steal the show. You can sit there endlessly if they are willing to sing. There is also a Pool Bar, which serves snacks, soft drinks, cocktails and liquors.
The resort supports a dock, which at any given point can station up to 250 yachts. There are specific days in the week marked out for these yachters and are served a special dinner. You have the Safa Wangi Spa where you can pamper yourself to an exotic massage and a range of other treatments.
Ask for any service and you’re sure to get it. Beginning from airport transfer to currency exchange to Internet facilities to medical services, there’s just about everything. The resort even has a library where you can sink into a chair and read for as long as you please.
