Exceptional world

Everything to capture that enduring image

The essence The Atlas captures the country as it is

Discovery Atlas will premiere on Discovery Channel on Republic Day, at 9 p.m. with the episode ‘India Revealed’. Subsequent episodes on six other countries – Brazil, China, Australia, Italy, Mexico and South Africa - will air every Saturday at 9 p.m.

During the shooting of India Revealed, the biggest thing that struck the crew about filming in India was that fact that nothing was ever a problem. Discovery Atlas provides exceptional narrative, stunning imagery and cutting-edge special effects to capture the world like never before. The production team travelled to different locations within each country using various forms of transportation, including hot air balloons, propeller planes, bamboo rafts, canoes, riverboats, helicopters, bicycle taxis, motorbike taxis and subways.

The 15-person China Revealed production crew filmed in nearly 40 separate locations across China. It’s estimated that each member of the crew travelled in the region of 30,000 miles during the making and spent over 100 hours in the air. The crew filmed on the Great Wall of China in temperatures of minus 20 degrees, with a wind chill which dropped the reading even further.
