Sucharita Reddy’s guide to good food, the traditional way
|
Nostalgia Cuisine is an attempt to put together a collection of authentic Andhra cuisine recipes. Penned by Sucharita Reddy, wife of Dr. C. Pratap Reddy, founder-chairman of Apollo Hospitals Group, the proceeds from the sale of this book will go towards the Save a Child’s Heart Foundation (SACH).
Sucharita has dedicated this book, which will be released next week, to her daughters. Sucharita comes from a traditional Zamindar family in Andhra Pradesh.
Married at 18, she lived primarily in the United States and Chennai, but has not lost touch with her roots.
Through Nostalgia Cuisine she seeks to encapsulate childhood memories through food interlaced not just with the spices of her region but equally delectable jewellery, clothes and customs. She makes it a point to cook according to the season and capture the essence of the atmosphere.
The contents of this book have been researched for over five years and some of the anecdotes of history and customs have never been chronicled before.
