The fifth ITC Classmate Young Author and Artist contest

Rupesh Jhabak, a class XI student from Bal Bhavan School, Bhopal has been awarded the title of Classmate Young Author 2007.
Tanya Balakrishnan, a standard IX student from Arya Vidya Mandir and R. Sneha a standard IX student from Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan have been awarded the second and third prize respectively.
The winner gets a chance to publish his work as well as travel to Paris for a week. The first runner-up will be awarded a laptop and the second runner-up will be gifted a handy cam. Apart from an opportunity to publish their stories the national finalists will also receive exciting electronic gadgets. The Contest, which entered its fifth year in 2007 saw participation from over 5,60,000 children from more than 5000 schools spread over 34 cities. This nationwide talent hunt for budding young writers is now the largest event of its kind in India.
In conjunction with Classmate Young Author Contest 2007, ITC also organized Classmate Young Artist Contest 2007. This painting contest meant to be a celebration of colours also has received tremendous participation with more than 5000 schools participating in the same. After rigorous assessment, the jury has short listed 40 paintings from all over the country, which will be featured in an exhibition as a part of the Grand Finale.
