Walk the walk
At a recent grooming seminar, image consultant Chhaya Momaya covered a lot of ‘how tos’ in rapid succession. One audience member seemed to have gotten confused sometime during the transition from ‘how to walk into a room and smile’ to ‘how to gesticulate while giving directions’. When she went up on stage to practice giving directions in a ladylike way, Chhaya asked her, “How do you get to the airport from here?’ and the lady answered confidently, “You walk and you smile.”
Foot-in-mouth
Looks can be a touchy subject with women (as many a husband/boyfriend suffering from foot-in-mouth syndrome has discovered). Freelance cartoonist N. Prakash learnt that the hard way recently, when he asked two female celebrities to autograph caricatures that he’d done of them and got a earful on how the drawings didn’t look like them at all instead. Now, Prakash doesn’t take any chances—he wisely asks his wife to give her opinion on his drawings before showing them to the celebs. Guess all they needed was a woman’s touch.
