Food fests


Dig into kebabs

Hotel Ista, Gachibowli, is organising The Great Indian Kebab and Ale Fest at its restaurant, Deori. The food festival has a spread of traditional Hyderabadi and Awadhi cuisine through a six-course meal with unlimited kebabs. Packages range from Rs. 1000 to 1600, inclusive of taxes, and a special package of Rs. 500 for children. The festival is on till February 10, 7 p.m. onwards. Kakori kebab, Bada kebab, Dahi ke kebab, Tandoori jhinga and many more kebabs will be available along with salads, breads, dal, biryani and exotic desserts. For reservation, call 4450 8888.

Bollywood beats

The Manohar, Begumpet, presents a Bollywood theme food festival called Mumbai Street Food Fest. The restaurant will replicate the great taste of streets foods of Mumbai with an ambience that reflects Bollywood sets and entertainment that includes popular songs from films. The festival is on till February 17 at the pool side, 7.30 p.m. onwards.

Fun with food

Shri Shakti College of Hotel Management’s fiesta called Fun Food and Funda promises food facts with fun today and tomorrow between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. at its campus (near Hotel Manohar, Begumpet). The event is a celebration of the entrepreneurial spirit of the students. The students will present food stalls, gaming stalls, consultants for education abroad for hotel management and catering, and music. The organising committee has also introduced sporting events such as arm wrestling contest, tug of war, flaring and DJ consoles. Contact 9440655273 for details.

Soups ‘n’ steaks

The sudden chill in the air is just right for some soups and steaks. Taj Deccan presents a food festival exclusively for gourmet soups and juicy vegetarian and non-vegetarian steaks during dinner time at Arena, the 24-hour coffee shop till February 6. The festival will offer soups, meats, seafood and vegetarian options from across the globe. Executive chef Rajeev Janveja will interact with the guests, while explaining the preparation of each dish. The menu offers eight varieties of soup and ten varieties of steak.
