The Pokri gang


Nigalchee, the group based in Madurai, was started three to four years ago. Few students – Venkatesh, Chellapandian, Nityanandan and Jansiraj — were selected from the group to be part of Brigitte’s production. Nigalchee’s previous production “Pokri”, a translation of Bertold Brecht’s “Caucasian Chalk Cirle”, was staged at National School of Drama’s festival. “It is on who is considered a pokri and by whom,” said Venkatesh, who played the greedy man in “Until life…”
