Voice Your Views: First of 'Thai' as Tamil New Year's Day

Tamil New Year starts from the month ‘Chithirai’ since time unknown. ‘Panchangam’ and related religious events are prepared from the Tamil month of ‘Chithirai’ and perused invariably by all people of Tamil Nadu. It is not known what the Government is going to gain by making legislative changes to commence the Tamil New Year from the month ‘Thai’ instead of ‘Chithirai.’ Concentration may be bestowed on other important affairs which would benefit the people and the Government.
