The declaration of ‘Thai’ first as ‘Tamil New Year’ is not going to bring any change in the lives of Tamils. The common people, who are undergoing inexplicable upheavals to keep their home fire burning, are not at all bothered about this declaration. This is nothing but a political gimmick. This game will be a continuous one with Tamil Nadu politicians in the years to come and the common man will have to bear it all.
