Pretty serious

An airhostess with Air India, Kaveri Jha is at home in Telugu films

Serious about her work Kaveri Jha

Nagaram is Kaveri Jha’s her first Telugu film and it’s going to release before her debut project in Hindi Hijack with Shiny Ahuja. The actress is more than happy for having completed the film as per schedule and gives t he entire credit to the production team for being flexible and co-operative. For those who don’t know Kaveri Jha, this is news. A small-town girl from Bihar, she was studying to become a doctor when she participated in Ms India 2005 and things started rolling for her. She has hosted a TV show with Sajid Khan and done innumerable ads before giving it up for films. Currently an air-hostess with Air India, Kaveri balances her work perfectly.

The photogenic actress says that movies happened to her by chance but now she has fallen in love with the camera and is determined to pursue the glamour profession and give it her all. Did she work hard for the Ms India contest? “Not at all.” She adds, “The pictures I sent them were clicked randomly and they selected me. I only wished I knew about the contest much earlier, I would have groomed myself and sent a decent portfolio.” Kaveri says with an effervescent smile that the contest changed her life and she gained tons of confidence and never looked back.

Kaveri recollects being stumped on the first day of her shoot for Nagaram when she was asked to memorise two long pages of dialogues in Telugu. She giggles, “because of my fumbling, my co-star would goof up. Imagine saying something without knowing the meaning and then giving expressions for that word.”

She says people do recognise her sometimes on the flight and ask her if she is an actress but she denies just to avoid long conversations. While most girls join movies to travel around the world, Kaveri has already seen half of the globe before entering films.
