My Kind of Place -- Ajay

Surprises in store

Planning pleasure trips in advance and going to popular tourist destinations are the done things. But discovering lesser known and exploring them is thrill immeasurable. It's fun being an adventurous traveller. Of course when you are with family, especially kids, it could be risky. When you are on the move with friends that's the way to be - raring, rather daring to go places.

Height of beauty

My kind of place? That trip to Himachal Pradesh with a group of friends is what comes to mind. Visit to all the well-known spots in the gorgeous Himachal featured in our itinerary. When we finally reached there, we were delighted to step into two small out-of-this-world villages - Chail and Kandaghat. We were so taken in by their beauty that we ended up staying for nine long days. Away from the hustle and bustle of tourists, they remain silently nestled in green valleys. And the hospitable villagers make the stay more relaxing for you. Imagine opening your eyes to snow-capped peaks, lush landscape and a hot cuppa! Wonder if people here have heard the word `pollution'. Another fascinating feature is the toy train that passes through the green forest. May be that's the only sound you could hear. Few hotels and shops hardly bother you when you are on cloud nine literally (you can see clouds settled on the valley).

Right time

When you are travelling to mountainous regions, bad weather could be the villain. Luckily for us, we were at these two stunning hills stations at the right time - when it was not biting cold. For people from the plains, extreme chillness could be too difficult to handle.

Travel...

Adds meaning to life. Knowing people and places make you more aware and opens up the horizon. But the pleasure you get from your travels depends on your company.
