Prakriti Foundation’s Hamara Shakespeare Festival on February 14, 15 and 16

PLAYTIME From “Shakespeare and She”
No playwright in history has been rendered into other languages as often or been appreciated by an audience as widespread, as Shakespeare has been. Prakriti Foundation’s Hamara Shakespeare Festival, held every February, only reinforces this. The festival of three plays derived from Shakespeare will be held on February 14, 15 and 16, 7 p.m., at Museum Theatre, Egmore.
Best of Kolkata Campus presents “Hamletmachine-images of Shakespeare-in-us” on February 14. Inspired by the Bard, it is a trilingual – Bangla, English and interspersed with an Assamese soundtrack.
“Shakespeare Thanimayil” in Tamil will be presented by Dr. V. Arumugham and Group, Pondicherry, on February 15.
“Shakespeare and She”, directed by Ramu Ramanathan, will be staged on February 16. The cast includes Ahlam Khan, Medha and Pooja Asher.
Donor passes are priced at Rs. 250. For details visit www.hamarashakespeare.com or www.prakritifoundation.com
