VOICE YOUR VIEWS - Valentine's Day

Celebration of Valentine’s Day by the youth is yet another instance of blind imbibing of the western culture in the country. In fact, this day has gained importance only in the past few years thanks to the undue publicity given by the media that has caught the imagination of a lot of youngsters. Although one may sound like a fundamentalist, the celebration of Valentine’s Day in our country clearly goes against our age old customs and culture. While the gaiety and fervour associated with Valentine’s Day by the young generation is a bit hard to digest for traditionalists, equally condemnable is the violent campaign by the Sangh Parivar affiliates against the celebration of Valentine’s Day.
