Comedy caper

“Lollu Sabha” (Friday, 9 p.m., Vijay TV) has successfully completed 200 episodes. The weekend comedy show is a satire on Tamil films. A clever plot and witty lines make the episodes interesting. Some popular films such as “CID Shankar” (renamed “Comedy Shankar”), “Paandavar Bhoomi” (renamed “Aandavar Bhoomi”), “Idudanda Police” (renamed “Idudanda Foolish”), “Mann Vasanai” (renamed as “Masala Vasanai”), “Kadhal Desam” (renamed “Kadhal Naasam”), were spoofed in “Lollu Sabha”. The show focuses on one film every week by enacting the most popular scenes and giving the dialogues a funny twist. The show features ‘lollu’ brothers — talented mimicry artistes Jeeva, Swaminathan, Easter, Antony, Seshu and Uday — along with Shobhana and Shwetha.
