Romance king size!

A romantic getaway to Agra on a chartered plane

Winners Mayank, Neha, Akash and Mukta are set to fly

The excitement was palpable. It was Valentine’s Day. Everyone dreams of that perfect romantic day, but very few actually get to live it. The ones with a love life are luckier, but what about those who are single and ready to mingle?

Well, Big FM decided to play cupid for those looking for their perfect match through the contest “Fosla Ka Ghosla” (Fosla in local Delhi lingo stands for ‘frustrated one sided lover’) and created an atmosphere for a romantic rendezvous. The two winning couples got a chartered plane ride to Agra to see the monument of love, the Taj Mahal, preceded by a Mercedes pick-up and followed in the evening by a romantic dinner at a star hotel. Voila!

Neha Mehta and Mayank Singhal, Mukta Shah and Akash Kumar Agarwal were strangers to each other till the contest got them closer. And now having found their partner for that day, the four were ready to live up to the red letter day.

Outside the domestic terminal of Indira Gandhi International Airport on the sunny morning, their hearts were beating fast as they awaited their turns to enter the building. A visibly excited Neha, a third year law student, looked forward to the fun. “We all are definitely excited. It is not an opportunity that comes your way often,” she said, while her partner Mayank was busy clicking photos. With boarding passes in hand (without having to stand in the queue), they went through the security check without any hassle and, finally, a special entrance led the couples to the car that took them to the small plane. That was some VIP treatment.

“Wow,” came a chorus reaction at the site of innumerable chartered planes lined up next to each other. Once near their plane, VT JPK, it was time for more photo ops.

How did it all happen? Answered Mukta, a hotel management student, “I just SMSed Big FM, who then called me back with Akash, a chartered accountant, on the other line. Both of us had to answer a set of questions to check for compatibility and romance levels. It clicked for us.”

Mayank, a banker, had a similar story to tell with Neha.

But how enchanting is the idea of spending a day with a complete stranger? “I think it is different and fun. We are loving every bit of it,” said Mayank, as the others nodded in agreement. Love was in the air, so were they!
