The more the merrier

The dry run of News-X, an English news channel from INX Media, has started; it will be the fifth English news channel in India to broadcast 24 hours of news. After Vir Sangvi left the channel, Arup Ghosh, news room head, has taken over charge. The c hannel will target an elite English-speaking audience. Asked how the channel will be different from competitors, Ghosh says, “These days, most news channels concentrate so much on breaking news that they fail to focus on its value. Our aim will be to make the channel distinct by adding news value for the viewers and thus breaking away from the clutter.”
