Miss Teen India

Entries sought for Miss Teen India 2008

It is not merely the young and the married women who can aspire to be beauty queens now. In what is touted as a first, Scooty Miss Teen India 2008, gives teenagers from across the country a chance to take part in the beauty pageant, the winners of wh ich will participate in the Miss Teen International.

This would be the first time India is represented at the international beauty event for teenagers which boasts the participation of 72 countries. The Miss Teen International contest this time around will be held in Chicago in July.

The Miss Teen India is a hunt for young beauties and targeted at girls between the age group of 13 and 18 years. The selection promises to be a fun-affair with a dose of glamour.

The contest seeks to find the contemporary teenager who fits a long list of dicey pre-requisites. She has to be a beautiful, confident and independent young girl who is “rebellious yet grounded”, “outspoken yet kind” and even dares to think “out of the box.” She has to be “rooted in family values” yet should have the “pep” factor.

The aspirants have to be unmarried and should be five feet six inches or more in height, according to a press note. Interested candidates can send their entries by March 5 and register online at http://missteenindia.mtvindia.com.

Talents scouts

The girls will be selected by talents scouts and the short-listed candidates have to attend the regional rounds in Mumbai and Delhi in early March. The selection process will also involve a 14-day grooming session, where the girls will undergo personality development sessions. The winner will be selected at a grand finale and she will join the winners from across the globe at the Miss Teen International contest in the United States.
