‘Nirvaan08’ begins today at Kanakakunnu

Back again Motherjane

Nirvaan 08,’ the annual technical-cum-cultural festival organised by the Electronics and Communication branch of Sree Chitra Thirunal College Of Engineering, Pappanamcode, is all set to rock the city on Saturday and Sunday (March 1 and 2).

To be held on the grounds of the Kanakakunnu Palace, the festival has a plethora of events. Technical events include ‘paper presentation,’ ‘project presentation,’ ‘image tweak’ and ‘code debugging,’ among others.

‘Roboshow’

The highlight of the technical competitions is ‘Roboshow,’ which will feature various robots that have won prizes in previous technical competitions. ‘Choreovideo,’ ‘voice hunt,’ ‘jugalbandhi,’ and ‘personality contest’ are some of the other events. The star attraction is the ‘Star Night’ on both days. ‘Saturday Nite Bash!’ will be hosted by Gaurav, a DJ from Delhi. This will be the first time that DJ Gaurav is performing in Kerala. His previous performances in India included shows at Indian Institutes of Technology and IIM-B.

The star performance on Sunday night will be by Motherjane, one of the premier rock bands in India. Recently they added another distinction when they were chosen to open for the upcoming much-awaited Megadeth gig in March in Bangalore. Motherjane returns to the city for their second major concert in 12 months, courtesy Rosebowl.
