The book “Oral Epics of Kalahandi” by Dr. Mahendra Kumar Mishra will be released at Indian School of Folklore (the academic wing of National Folklore Support Centre) on March 7 at 5.30 p.m. The book release will be followed by a lecture by the author.

The book is a compilation of the oral epics sung by the ethnic and folk singers of Kalahandi. The narratives are about the life history of people across time and space. This compilation represents the tribal and non-tribal epics performed in the community.
