Inside Kollywood

The great combo of Prakash Raj and Pritviraj (Their “Mozhi” was a trend-setter last year) is back with “Vellithirai”. It marks the directorial debut of “Mozhi”s scriptwriter Viji. The music is by G.V. Prakash. The film is based on the Malayalam hit “Udayananu Tharam” and tells the story of a struggling writer in Kollywood (Pritviraj). His masterpiece gets stolen by a scheming friend (Prakash Raj), who launches himself as hero with the film. It turns out to be a super hit and he soon becomes a superstar! Meanwhile, the heart broken writer starts life all over with the help of his lady love, numero uno actor (Gopika), who is now wooed by the superstar. “Vellithirai” takes a tongue-in-cheek look at the Kollywood star system and its pitfalls and has a gripping climax.
