WHAT'S COOKING?

Quick Lunch

For those pressed for time, Dhaba at The Claridges offers a quick pre-plated vegetarian and a non-vegetarian thali for lunch. You can walk the business talk here over a quick, unlimited meal.

The thalis have a scrumptious selection of kababs, curries, rice, breads and desserts, all served at one go. Open from 12.30 to 3 p.m., a vegetarian thali is priced at Rs.900 while the non-veg one comes for Rs.1100 (taxes extra in both the cases). At its Pickwicks, the multi-cuisine restaurant (open from Monday to Saturday), there is an attractively laid out lunch buffet. The guests can choose from a selection of soup, salads, brads, main course and desserts.

Business Lunch

There is another alternative for the business traveller, at Chutney, The Metropolitan Hotel. Here one can get a wholesome Indian meal that takes under an hour (again quick?) and is not heavy on the stomach too.

You can choose from an array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. There are appetisers like Makhmali & Methi fish tikka, dishes like Subz Kalimirch (batons of vegetables tossed with crush black pepper and coriander) and the Chef’s specialty dum ka murgh and follow up with mouth-watering desserts like Sakurewali Phirni. Open from 12.30 p.m. to 2.30 p.m. vegetarian fare is priced at Rs.650 and the non-vegetarian one 750 (plus taxes).
