A battle in steps!

Break dance experts performed recently in the Capital

Time to Disco! B mouth and Choco

Break dance culture seems to be vanishing these days. Reviving this old dance form are the B boys, B mouth and Choco. They were recently in Delhi as part of Red Bull Street Battles, riveting audiences with their earth shattering dance moves. Known as pioneers of break dance in Asia, it was their first visit to India.

Having performed at various events across the world, they performed in four clubs of Delhi and NCR — Capitol in Hotel Ashok, Elevate in Noida, Decibel in Hotel Samrat, and Ministry of Sound in Vasant Kunj, making people sway to their funkiest dance moves to foot thumping and pulsating music.

Personal style

These acclaimed break dancers from Taiwan have created their own personal style in B-boying. B-boying is a form of hip hop dancing which is popularly known as breaking or simply break dance. Practising this Yankee culture since childhood, B-boys B mouth and Choco dedicated many years of practice to acquire the skills associated with B-boying. In Taiwan, they are the part of a large band called Formosa. Defying all rules of gravity, they rippled on their head, twisted legs, spun on the back with ease leaving the audience in shock and awe.

Let’s hope these young boys bring the fading dance form back to the centre-stage.
