Vaastuhara

The Aravindan Memorial Lecture, organised by the Cochin Film Society, will be held at the Changampuzha Samskarika Kendram, Edappally, on March 15 at 6.00 p.m. This will be followed by the screening of ‘Vaastuhara.’

Aravindan’s last film, ‘Vaastuhara’ is based on a short story by C. V. Sreeraman. Set in the backdrop of Calcutta, the film tells the story of dispossessed people during the post Partition and the 1971 exodus from Bangladesh to West Bengal.

The film stars Mohanlal, Shobhana, Neelanjana Mitra and Neena Gupta.

On March 17, the German film ‘Lives of Others,’ and on March 18 the South Korean film ‘Why Bodhidharma Left For The East?,’ will be screened at the Adhyapaka Bhavan, Kochi, at 6 p.m.
