VOICE YOUR VIEWS: USE OF PUBLIC ADDRESS SYSTEM DURING EXAMINATION TIME

Misuse

Public address system is indiscriminately used by all and sundry, especially by the emerging political parties to muster student support. Noise pollution, due to misuse of PAS at high volume, distracts the attention of student community at this juncture of crucial examinations. Rural areas also face the menace. There are rules regarding proper use of loudspeakers in public meetings, volume limit, time limit etc but neither they are followed nor implemented. Business firms, advertising agencies and political parties should desist from misusing the PAS in the larger interest of the student population at least during the examination season.

P. Ponnu Rathinam,

Tiruchi-14.
