Moving

I read the article on Thambi Kadambavanam, a major theatre personality in the Down Memory Lane Column by J.Vasanthan. I admire the way Vasanthan narrates.

I was really moved when I read that though Thambi made others happy and laugh, he was lonesome and craved for love and care and did not get any till his end.

When I read this article, a story came to my mind. A man dejected and sad was standing in the seashore. Finding pity on him, many people approached him and suggested to meet a particular person, a clown by profession so that all his worries will be taken out and he will be happy. For that the said man replied, “I am the clown you are talking about’.

It seems comparatively easy to entertain others than to keep self happy”.

Need more

The article “Bedi and the art of policing” by Subha.J.Rao is a much awaited article needed for the new generation to lead an intellectual and courageous life, particularly youths and girls. Every word of Kiran Bedi is a mantra to be stored in the brain, understood by the mind and activated by the person. We now need so many courageous Kiran Bedis for the community, Society and the nation.

If she could change, convert, rectify the terrific and ill-hearted culprits, why can’t our youths do for themselves. Carve her inspiring advices in everybody’s minds which can penetrate into the hearts to act upon to lead as a good human for the betterment of self and the nation.

Inspiration

Readers of the Hindu-Metroplus are pleased to find an article on the illustrious Indian woman, namely, Kiran Bedi: ‘Bedi and the Art of Policing’ based on the conversation with Subha J.Rao in the issue dated March 1,2008. This will inspire the youth.

The plea of parents especially the mothers in many articles on the aspirations of women employed in firms, government departments and educational institutions are published to enrich the life of Indian youth. Not contributions of film stars and directors whose behaviour and attitude induce many young men and women to indulge in juvenile delinquency.

T.M.Gnanapragasam,
