Sublime show Varun Bahl
Designer Varun Bahl’s show on Day 2 of the Wills India Fashion Week was said to be sublime. It also played the right tunes as far as the buyers were concerned. Caught in the buzz at the event, Varun said rave comments somehow never reached him.
What was your Autumn/Winter collection about?
The inspiration for the collection was India 2008. It was about the country as it is today and how the whole world looks at India now. I used a range of fabrics such as velvet and Cashmere silk in the collection.
How was the latest collection for the WIFW different?
It showed me slightly shifting away from what I am known for. The collection was a little less feminine. It reflected the process of my evolution.
Any other show you found impressive at the WIFW?
I didn’t go for other shows. Of course, there are a lot of designers whom I like.
What’s on the cards after the WIFW?
Actually, I am pretty clueless. But there are couple of flagship stores that are going to come up in Delhi.
