VOICE YOUR VIEWS

For the cash-rich

Real estate investment is good and profitable for those who have large amounts of money.

This is what many people are doing with money received from their close ones living abroad.

Businessmen and people with heavy pay packets salaries are also investing with long-term expectations. Even government is selling its precious land without any thought or regard for future.

Only people with fixed incomes and those in the lower income groups find it difficult to purchase land for housing. Those who already own a land or a house still manage to get land at subsidised rates or for free from government.

Government should take steps to rationalise and control the real estate business.
