Making his own music

Singer Raghu Dixit believes in being different

Tunes for everyone Raghu Dixit reaches out through his music

He is a dancer, singer and composer. Meet Raghu Dixit, the main vocalist and guitarist of the band ‘The Raghu Dixit Project’ whose debut album has created quite a stir in music circles.

He feels music’s popularity today depends entirely on its packaging.

“One needs to keep the audience happy with the performances,” he says. He likes to call his music as Indo-world-folk-rock which has a pleasant mixture of Indian sounds and music from around the world.

Raghu believes that it’s not only the kind of music which matters but also its quality.

“There is so much variation in music and several new bands are coming up. And to make a mark, one needs to be different,” he says.

This multi-talented artiste, who has been signed by Vishal and Shekhar, believes in keeping his lyrics intense and simple.

“I want to make my own music. Performing live is not an easy task when compared to a recording. There is no retake when you sing in front of the audience. One needs to be the best,” says the confident singer. “I believe in being my self and love performing at events where people enjoy such music”.

He has performed in almost every city yet maintains a low profile.

The singer believes there is much more to achieve and he still has a long way to go.
