Bad hair days? Hrithik and Preity in ‘Lakshya’

What’s in

Hair colours like ruby, caramel and honey shades for women and silver streaks for men. Golden brown streaks and highlights are out. Short cuts for women this summer (see Bipasha) and the mullet style (short in front and longer from behind) for men are in.

What worked

Aamir’s goatee, Saif Ali Khan’s yuppie style and Preity Zinta’s perms in Dil Chahta Hai.

Preity Zinta’s straight, ironed hair in Kal Ho Na Ho and close crop in Lakshya.

Saif Ali Khan’s young metrosexual look in Kal Ho Na Ho and Salaam Namastey, a rugged ominous bald look in Omkara and a with-it action hero in Race and the forthcoming film Tashan.

Hrithik Roshan’s brown highlights and Aishwarya Rai’s bronzed look and highlights in Dhoom 2.

And what didn’t

Rani Mukherjee’s curls and fringes in Ta Ra Rum Pum.

Preity Zinta and Hrithik Roshan dishevelled look in the college episode of Farhan’s Lakshya (see photograph).
