Chef comments: Corn flakes diet idly by Suyogi is an excellent dish which is very light and healthy.

It can be had for breakfast or even as a snack at any time of the day.

My compliments to Suyogi for a wonderful recipe.

Corn flakes diet idly

Ingredients

Corn flakes: 1cup

Pressed rice (atukulu): 1/2 cup

Idly rava: 1 cup

Curd: 1/2 cup

Beans (minced) : 1 cup

Carrot, grated: 1 cup

Fresh green peas: 1/2 cup

Onion, chopped: 1

Coriander: 1/2 cup

Green chillies: 3

A small piece of ginger, chopped

Cashew nuts: 1/2 cup

Grated fresh coconut: 1/2 cup

Salt

Method

Soak corn flakes and pressed rice till soft. Grind it with adding little water. Add the rest of the items along with curd.

Keep for 15-20 minutes and season with 1 tsp ghee with mustard seeds, jeera and toor dal (1/4 tsp. each)

Mix well and bring it to idly batter consistency by adding either water or curd. Grease the idly trays, pour the batter and steam them in cooker for 10 minutes.

Serve hot with mint chutney/kadi paththa powder (for this powder, roast half cup ground nuts,1/2 tsp jeera, 6-8 garlic flakes, 1large cup kadi paththa cleaned. Grind by adding little salt.)
