SPANISH DELIGHTS The spread on offer
Are you a lover of Spanish culture or cuisine? Then you need to visit The Claridges Hotel. The hotel recently launched a Spanish Food Festival at its Sevilla restaurant.
To showcase the cuisine of the country, two chefs from Hotel Las Dunas in Costa del Sol, Spain, have been brought down to Delhi. This area is known for its Phoenician style of salting, Roman use of oils and garlic and even has an Arab influence.
Alluring variety
The menu contains a lot of variety from tomatoes to lobster. The look of the restaurant is typically Spanish.
The place not only provides pleasure to the eyes and stomach but also to the ears.
Spanish guitarists entertain with strains of Flamenco music. For starters, gazpacho (a cold vegetable soup) is a must have.
The non-veggies also have a wide variety to choose from starting with lobster to tuna fish. The main course contains sea food, meat and paella. Paella is commonly said to be like a pulao.
Both the vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions are available. Pizzas made of olive oil are also served.
One should not miss out on the tiramisu. Hot chocolate soufflé served with ice cream is a delight.
Chef Thomas Stork says, “I have not imported anything from outside but have tried to use everything that is freshly available here in India. We have very similar vegetation in Spain. So I have tried to retain the nativity of Spain using the best from India.”
