How can I get rid of lice? Suggest a home remedy. — Ujjwala
Apply vinegar on the hair and the scalp. After half an hour, run a fine-toothed comb through your hair. As vinegar loosens the nits (eggs), they can be easily removed by hand. Then wash the hair, using less shampoo and rinsing well with water.
Add two tablespoons of vinegar to a mug of water and use it as the last rinse. Again, run a lice comb through your hair. Do this daily for one week.
Whenever I go out in the sun, my skin burns and looks bad. I am fair-complexioned and my skin is dry. — Abdul
Apply a sunscreen before going out in the sun. Select a sunscreen with SPF 20 or above. It should be applied 20 minutes before you set out. If you stay out for long, reapply the sunscreen.
Most sunscreens are also moisturisers. Sun-exposure can deplete moisture and cause further dryness. Mix honey and milk, and apply it daily. Wash it off after 15 minutes. It will soothe the skin and also relieve dryness.
My skin is oily and dark. My elbows and feet too are dark. Is there any way to lighten my complexion? — Srividya
Mix multani mitti with rose water and lemon juice and apply the paste at least thrice a week. Wash it off when it is dry. Rub the feet and the elbows daily with pieces of lemon. Wash the feet and the elbows and apply til oil, massaging it into the skin.
