Self-assessment for property tax revision: Voice your views

The recent move by the city Corporation to issue self-assessment forms for property tax revision to every household enabling evaluation of the tax for their properties based on revised basic value is a welcome move. As per the corporation authorities, the owners should evaluate their properties and fill up the given application forms which will reduce the chances of malpractices. The Corporation’s assurance of helping people who find it difficult to calculate the tax will go a long way in improving and maintaining ties between the public and the civic body.
