Osteo-arthritis camp on April 11, 12 and 13

The PNR Society for Relief and Rehabilitation of the Disabled organises its 19th osteo-arthritis camp on April 11, 12 and 13 at Mahaveer Bhavan, 77, Pillaiyar Koil Street, Triplicane, under the guidance of Dr. Vijay Naik, consulting prosthetic and or
thotist from PNR Society, Gujarat.
Osteo-arthritis is a common problem encountered by all, especially the aged. It arises due to wear and tear of knee joints and can be cured by undergoing total knee replacement surgery. For those who are not keen on surgery, Dr. Naik has developed a polycentric knee brace (a simple weight bearing device consisting of a mechanical joint), which worn properly is said to reduce pain. The technique of the brace is to transfer the body weight from the anatomical knee joint to the mechanical one. Registration for new patients will be done tomorrow at the same venue between 9 a.m. and 12 noon. Old patients can go for review on April 11. For details call 28151947.
