Divas Ahoy!

‘Karmic Divas’ is a tribute to eight women

An ode to womanhood, a tribute to achievers, a declaration to the world. Call it anything you like but it sure is an encomium to the excellence achieved by these eight women achievers – Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Kalpana Morparia, Naina Lal Kidwai, Neelam Dhawan, Ritu Kumar, Swati Piramal, Vinita Bali and Vandana Luthra.

Achievers

‘Karmic Divas’, as it is rightly called, features stories of these eight women who have broken the male bastion in their respective fields through their work.

The book is authored by Prerna K Mishra and published by Vitasta.

The book was launched recently in New Delhi by Union Minister of Finance, P.Chidambaram, who described the book as a “straightforward and humble attempt” to display the journey of these achievers. But, he also urged asked everyone not to forget that the nation still hasn’t let go off social scourges like the female foeticide, child marriages and denying little or no education to for girl child. and these “brutal facts” as he called them should not be forgotten.

“This book is a declaration and an inspiration to the youth that even in this so called men’s world there was no stopping for these women and I hope this book inspires many many more to become divas of future,” says Prerna.
