Paper folding
Christline Home Crafts will conduct a workshop on iris folding and tea bag folding, from April 7 to 11. It will be held between 10.30 a.m. and 1 p.m. The fee for the workshop is Rs. 500, inclusive of materials.
Iris folding is a way of making greeting cards and framed art. It is made using a template, envelopes, gift wrappers and scrapbook sheets. The technique is called iris folding because once the design is completed, the centre part resembles the iris.
Tea bag folding uses some of the techniques of origami combined with tiny squares of patterned paper to form attractive geometric patterns. For details, call 0422 – 4212926.
Summer camp
Kalanjiyam that holds workshops, will conduct ‘Discover Kids’, a residential summer camp, from April 14 to 18, for children aged between five and 14 years. Activities to be covered are yoga, stretch exercises, trekking, nature walks, bird
watch, arts and crafts, story telling, etiquette, personality development, public speaking, music, painting, drawing, puppetry, theatre and traditional games.
The students will also be taken around on an edutainment tour lasting two days. The places to be covered include Government museum, Aavin milk factory, Isha Foundation, Perur temple, Kovai Kondattam, Aliyar Dam and Vedanta Maharishi ashram.
