CSI: Crime Scene Investigation’s new season premieres on AXN tonight

MEET THE TEAM As CSI races to save Sara’s life

AXN, an action and adventure channel, presents the exclusive premiere of the eighth season of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation today at 11 p.m.

Not only is Las Vegas’ crime rate up in the latest CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, your heart rate will be too!

The new season is back with more sordid and sensational crimes and even more amazing investigative work by the forensic experts in sin city.

The new season continues from the startling cliff-hanger finale of season 7, where CSI Sara Sidle (Jorja Fox) gets personally attacked by a serial killer out for revenge.

While Sara lies motionless under a car in the desert, the CSI team races to rescue her by relying on a single clue that the serial killer leaves for them.

This turn of events has certainly shaken Las Vegas’ weary and seasoned CSIs, including the ever cool team leader, Gil Grissom (William Petersen) who lets his secret relationship with Sara out of the bag!

Will Sara survive?

Other CSIs will have to face their colourful past and not so clear-cut personal lives.

The sexy Catherine Willows (Marg Helgenberger) might just be heading towards a new direction in her life altogether as she gets involved in the hotel project of her late father; while Warrick Brown (Gary Doudan) goes head to head with the remnants of the old Vegas mob, beginning in an episode directed by Oscar-winning director William Friedkin; and Grissom investigates a global bee epidemic.

Only the soul of the team, Nick Stokes (George Eads), senses his “family” is in a funk and fights to maintain their unity.

Expect a new CSI joining the experts this season. Fresh out of school, with an abundance of energy and enthusiasm and a dearth of experience, this new member’s enthusiasm will quickly wear out her mentor.

Will the team continue to stand tall and strong against the evils of Las Vegas crime? Wait and watch!
