Destiny, a new farm stay tucked away in the unspoilt valleys of Avalanche, about 30 kilometres from Ooty, opened its doors this March for the summer vacation.
A concept of the Littlearth Group, it gives one an opportunity to connect directly with nature - either by trying out your hand in farming, dairy farming or simply by indulging in adventure sports. Spread over 120 acres of land, the farm produces herbs, vegetables and dairy products.
An agricultural tour enables one to learn how all the vegetables one eats are cultivated.There is also horse riding, rock climbing and rappelling, apart from a cross-country nature trek that takes one across the two hills across the lake, assisted by an expert trainer from the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute.
Apart from the operational buildings, the dairy farm and the stables, the buildings that make Destiny complete are the two living structures which sit atop directly opposite the lake, offering a grand view of the entire property.
