Carnival time!

Wyclef Jean will perform live in India on April 16, 18 and 19

Vh1, India’s international music and lifestyle channel, brings Wyclef Jean to perform live for the first time in India for their annual property Vh1 Handpicked. Wyclef will kickstart his three-city India tour on April 16 at Hard Rock Cafe in Ba ngalore. He will perform in Pune on April 18 and in Mumbai on April 19. Popularly known as a member of the legendary trio The Fugees, Wyclef has gone on to release platinum solo albums with hits such as ‘Maria Maria’ and ‘Hips Don’t Lie’, and is here to bring a little carnival excitement for the Indian audiences!

Says Wyclef Jean: “I have many Indian composers and artists who are dear friends. I have performed with them over the many years of my career as a solo artist and with the Fugees! I am always entertaining audiences all over the world! I have fallen in love with bhangra and other Indian folk influences over the past few years, and no matter where you are in the world, the audience loves it too! I’m extremely excited as this is my first trip to India and I am hoping my fans will love to see me perform live.”

In addition to singing, rapping and playing the guitar, he has established himself as a noted producer and has collaborated with an impressive array of artists including Bono, Santana, Shakira, Destiny’s Child and the Black Eyed Peas.

Wyclef is also known for participating in high-profile charity benefit shows for a variety of causes, including aid for his native Haiti.

His debut solo album got its sequel in 2007 when Carnival, Vol. 2: Memoirs of an Immigrant hit the shelves.
