Several designers from across the country showcase their creations at Vimonisha from today



VINTAGE, YET MODERN Ear rings from Water Lilly on show at Vimonisha

Bright florals, cool pastels and attractive jewellery are the highlights of the The Summer 2008 Vimonisha Private Collection, on show at the Vimonisha Gallery, 12, Khader Nawaz Khan Road, on April 17, 18 and 19. Flames of the Forest, designer jewellery from New Delhi, is a line of signature jewellery in silver and semi-precious stones. Water Lilly, designer jewellery from Mumbai, made of 92.5 sterling silver, combines the vintage and the modern look.

Vaneeta’s from Mumbai has come up with tunics, tops, shirts and suits in comfortable fabrics. Natural colours such as white, mushroom and laguna green dominate the line. Tunics, shirts, tops and unstitched suits in cotton, georgette and chiffon enhanced with thread work, cut work and metal work make the collection from Raveena’s (Bangalore) unique.

New-Delhi based Vamangini offers kurtis, salwar suits in traditional prints and fabrics. The garments have daboo and block prints. Poshak, also from New Delhi, has come up with a range of designer fabrics and garments.


Maitri of Jaipur offers block printed Indo Western wear and a mix and match collection of prêt wear. Mahima’s of Jaipur too offers a selection of block printed designer fabrics and garments.

Samaroho, a Kolkata-based boutique, has an array of hand embroidered garments and fabrics, tops, salwar kameex and handbags. Besides, it has an attractive collection of saris in silk, tussar and cotton. Katha from Bengal, with its block prints, spray painting, hand painting, batik, tie and dye, adds variety to the display.

The collection from Devaki’s (Bangalore) comprises cotton, dyed tussar and light silk block-printed saris for casual and party wear. Chikankari and zardosi adapted in ensembles, kurtis, and saris coordinated with designer handbags and footwear are the highlights of the collection put together by Traditions Inc., Lucknow.

There’s something for kids too. Urbanessence brings a colourful range of trendy kurtas, kurtis, patialas, salwars, churidars and accessories and smocked and hand embroidered dresses, rompers, blouses, baby vests and skirts.
