burrp.com has launched burrp!TV (http://tv.burrp.com), an online television guide that offers a comprehensive view of what is playing across TV channels in India. burrp!TV will be an extension to the portal’s existing offering that currently comprises local lifestyle listings.
The key features of burrp!TV are Search (the ability to search television listings for show names, character names, channel or genre), Time Travel (the ability to view channel schedules 14 days ahead of time), SMS Alerts (the functionality to set SMS reminders before a show is about to commence), Movie Explorer (a browser for movies playing across all television channels) and WAP Enabled (accessibility on mobile phones through GPRS).
The company has roped in key media networks such as Star, Sony, Zee and Discovery as well as other independent channels such as Zoom to support the platform with high quality schedules and content. Currently the portal displays schedules of 14 popular Indian television channels. The company aims to tie up with all major Indian television channels by the year end.
