Sitar concert


Society Dharani will present a sitar concert by Aloke Dasgupta at the Kerala Fine Arts Hall, Ernakulam, on April 25 at 6.45 p.m. He will be accompanied on the tabla by Satish Babu.

Trained in the Maihar gharana of Allauddin Khan, Aloke has composed several Indian-American jazz selections for the album ‘Usha’ and has also published an album of short raga-based pieces titled ‘Caresses of the Sitar.’
