A giant entry

The Sachdeva Group (TSG), credited for launching Tommy Hilfiger in Delhi, is now introducing global fashion giants, Alberta Ferretti and Jean Paul Gaultier, for the first time in the country. As a prelude, the company initiated a three-day private viewing of Moschino, Ferretti and Gaultier limited edition Spring Summer Collection 2008 at the city’s The Claridges hotel for a select clientele.

All the three brands on display are established global bigwigs and have very distinct fashion philosophies. While Moschino is renowned for its classic combination of style and humour, Ferretti is synonymous with a feminine design sensibility.

Gaultier on the other hand is one of the world’s best known avant garde designers, famous for styling Madonna among others

With a growing number of global brands stepping into the Indian retail market, the demand here for high-end, luxury products appears to be on the rise. Those who can afford these labels now have the option of acquiring them in India as opposed to shopping for them during their sojourns abroad.

Sachdeva aims to set up as many as five outlets for each of these brands in the next three years to create a pan-Indian presence, allowing customers the luxury to easily access and shop for these exclusive labels. Future plans for the company include a tie-up with Lanvin and Stella McCartney. They are likely to be launched by the end of the year.
