ACHIEVEMENT City girl Anjali Chandrashekar’s poster on water was displayed in Washington
|
Working on theme-based paintings has been Anjali Chandrashekar’s passion since she was a child and it has held her in good stead.
Numerous awards and accolades later, the work of this Class IX artist from Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan was one of the few chosen from across the world to highlight the importance of water.
Anjali’s work was one of the two chosen from 780 posters from 12 countries in the 13-15 years category, and was displayed at the National Mall in Washington DC to commemorate World Water Day.
The event was organised by Nature’s Voice Our Choice, and the painting will be used as part of a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of water.
Anjali has worked for many organisations to raise awareness on burning issues.
Her paintings have been converted into calendars and posters by many organisations, including UNICEF, UNISDR and UNEP.
